The Philippine Australian Alumni Association, Incorporated (PA3i) is the umbrella organisation of scholars and graduates of formal degree and non-degree training programs offered by Australian universities and training institutions. It was pioneered by the Public Affairs Section of the Australian Embassy on September 20, 2000.
Initially, PA3i was organised to promote lifelong relationships among individuals who benefited from Australian training and education. At the same time, it sought to contribute in strengthening Philippine-Australian relations by supporting the programs of Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) in the country.
Over time, this objective has evolved into a collective desire to engage members in socially-relevant discourses and activities, and in harnessing partnership opportunities not only with AusAID but also with other institutions (national and at a chapter level). With this objective, the organisation was able to contribute in addressing common knowledge gaps and in mainstreaming cutting-edge technologies and replicable practices. Since then, PA3i has become a platform for the alumni to collectively participate in the growing number of socially-relevant projects. PA3i likewise aims to transcend territorial boundaries in advocating educational linkages with other Australian universities and institutions.
On January 9, 2001, PA3i was incorporated as a non-stock and non-profit organisation duly registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
