  • Davao Welcomes Ambassador Tweddell

    The PA3i Davao Chapter hosted the visit of the Australian Ambassador, H.E. Bill Tweddell, to Davao City at the Malagos Garden Resort on 6 February 2012.

    The occasion was the among his first regional visits as Ambassador to the Philippines. Chapter officers who welcomed Ambassador Tweddell were Mr. Simeon Marfori II—Davao Chapter President, Ms. Maria Julieta R. Torres—Chapter Vice President, and Mr. Bryan Cubelo—Chapter PRO, while members Ms. Wit Holganza, Mr. Andre Joseph Fournier, and Ms. Tina Ramos were present to lend full support.

    The Ambassador was treated to Davao’s delicious native delicacies and beautiful crafts and merchandise and to a tour around the famous Malagos Garden Resort by no less than the resort’s owner Mrs. Charita Puentespina and Mrs. Puentespina’s son, Dr. Bo Puentespina.

    The Chapter had the pleasure to present its accomplishments and on-going activities to the Ambassador including its project on the establishment of a Continuing Education Center that aims to develop the use of ICT in teaching and learning among secondary school teachers in Davao City, a project supported by AusAID. The Ambassador was happy and impressed to hear the Chapter’s achievements and encouraged the Chapter to continue its mission and advocacy that would further enhance good relations between Australia and Philippines.
